Dad Jokes

Why do dads tell Dad Jokes?

I’ll tell you why.

We think they’re funny.

We really do.

And we tell the same ones over and over again because we think that sometime, somewhere, someone is going to laugh at one of them.

So the next time your dad tells a corny joke that he’s told you a hundred times, laugh uproariously at it. Fall on the floor and roll around if you’d like.

Maybe he’ll figure that since that one finally got a laugh, it’s time to retire it.

Or maybe not.

Anyway, here are a few of my own illustrated Dad Jokes.

LEGAL NOTICE
If you hurt yourself falling on the floor and laughing at any of these, I absolve myself of all responsibility.

  1. Enjoyed the jokes, and yep, we’ve heard them before, perhaps a different format, but same old,
    same old!
As we age, we wish to hear them again and again.
At our house we hear truck driving stories, as John was on the road so many years. He didn’t keep track of mileage many years, but after keeping records, when he retired, he had logged well over 3 million miles.
He says his body feels every inch of highway.
Truck drivers get a bad reputation, not all are bad.
John was teased constantly because he prayed openly in truck stops, didn’t stop him. Made him more determined!
He did see some heart wrenching sights.
A three years old little girl hugging a guardrail post, as told to do her parents, until some came to get her.
Teen aged girls, running away from home.
I read John your blog, we generally read them as a family, his comment was, ‘Be glad if we had fathers who told corny and silly jokes repeatedly, one day we’d love hearing them again’.
I know you feel the same.
